Church of St. Anne - Concert Hall of the South Bohemian Philharmonic
Church of St Anne, together with the Capuchin monastery in České Budějovice, established in the early 17th century by Empress Anna of Tyrol, serves a quite different purpose nowadays: it is used as the concert hall. It has been owned by the South Bohemian Philharmonic since 1988. The building is fully compliant with concert and operating requirements. Its advantageous location in Kněžská street in the city center has made the concert hall one of the main cultural centers in the city. The heart of the building is the concert hall, in the past named after Otakar Jeremiáš, a native of České Budějovice and a prominent composer. The hall has excellent acoustics with a capacity of 148 seats in the hall and 14 seats on the balcony. The concert setting is complemented by a modern organ. The concert hall was completely reconstructed in 2021 thanks to the South Bohemia Region.
