Church of Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary

The Church of Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary is located in České Budějovice in Žižkova Avenue as part of the Petrine monastery. The art decorations of the church are some of the most beautiful examples of Beuron art in south Bohemia. The church was built in 1899-1900. The original slat factory was gradually rebuilt; the Beuron style was applied particularly in the church interior. The whole project suffered from a lack of funds. Money for the church was collected in small coins; many of the craftsmen reduced their rates or only charged for their supplies. The building is a part of the Petrine monastery compound. The church is built in the Neo-Romanesque style and consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary.
