Two day festival Iron and golden České Budějovice 2019, the only royal festival in South Bohemia, is coming back after 2 years.

Already third festival will take place on 6th and 7th September in three locations in the city center – the Piaristic Square, Zátkovo nábřeží and Sokolský Island. The beginning of the school year will belong to noble knights, graceful ladies and of course to our iron and golden king Přemysl Otakar 2nd.

The festival follows the previous years. It will start on Friday evening on Piaristic Square. The interactive demonstrations of well known and also forgotten crafts and period accompanying programme will take place there. The atmosphere of medieval market will spread also to Zátkovo nábřeží a Sokolský Island on Saturday.

The embankment will belong to famous personalities, who influenced the history and development of the city. The visitors will meet for example king knight Hirzo, the locator of the city.

The main part of the festival will take place on Sokolský Island. The knight tournaments with horses, competitions for families with children will take place there. The programme will start at 16:00 by arrival of the King Přemysl Otakar 2nd and his cortege and at 19:30 it will be finished by a great fire show.
